Common problems with air conditioners

Depending on your air conditioner's issues, you may be able to handle some issues on your own. However, if you hear strange noises or see leaks, call your HVAC team at Lynn's right away for repair servicing.

AC Won't Turn On
Make sure your thermostat is in the correct position and check the electrical panel to see if the breaker is tripped or the power is on.
The Air Isn't Cooling
Make sure the thermostat is positioned correctly, then try changing the air filter. Make sure your outdoor unit is clear of debris.
Unsteady Temperatures
Leaking ducts, poor insulation, and blocked registers can all cause uneven and inconsistent cooling temperatures.
Water Leaking
If you see water dripping from your air conditioner, check the line for clogs and jams. If you are leaking refrigerant, ice and water can build up and drip from the coils.
Strange Noises
Any noises including banging, clanking, whining, and screeching are all bad signs. If you hear these coming from your air conditioner, turn it off and call Lynn's for air conditioner service Winnipeg for complete inspection and repair.

Service Updates

New refrigerant coming soon

Until recently, most air conditioner units ran on Freon, the name for the colorless and odorless gas also known as R-22. However, researchers have determined that Freon is incredibly bad for the environment, reducing o-zone, and contributing to global warming.

With plans to stop Freon production in 2020, a new environmentally friendly refrigerant called Puron (R-410A) is now replacing Freon in newer air conditioning units.

It's still legal to own and operate a unit that runs on Freon, which means you don't have to buy a new unit right away if yours still works fine. You'll still be able to use recycled Freon even after production stops, giving you time to switch to a new system when it makes sense for you.

At Lynn’s Heating & Cooling, we're service both older Freon units and newer Puron units. Contact us today to learn more about this change or to schedule your air conditioner repair or upgrade.

Testimonials

Our Air Conditioning Technicians Are the Best in Town

From the moment I met Josh I knew I could trust this company. He was very patient and explained everything easily. The team came on time. They worked so hard to get my new AC on my old furnace. It was a challenging job but they stayed positive and never discouraged me.

Dallas installed my central air unit 10-11 years ago at the recommendation of a friend. Since then the Lynn's team has helped me numerous times with drain services, plumbing service Winnipeg and most recently a new furnace and hot water tank. This has been a cold winter and my old furnace wouldn't have cut it. New furnace, no problem. I feel like they actually care and that's important to me. Would reccomend them to anyone.

Brian K

Absolutely fantastic to work with. I had called half a dozen places when the sump pump failed during some heavy rain, most didn't even bother calling back. Even though they were getting slammed Dallas kept in touch and kept me aware of when to expect him. After arriving he had our sump pump swapped out in short order with a replacement up and running, no messing around. I will be calling on them again in the future should the need arise.
